Isaac Palathinkal (PL.1.2.1.1.1.2), our Past President has been elected as the International President Elect of Y’s Men International for the year 2013-14. He will be installed in the position in July 2013 at the International Convention in Manila, Philippines. He will take over as International President in 2014-15.
Y’s Men International was founded in 1922, in Ohio, USA. Isaac is the fifth International President from India. He was elected to this post through voting by over 1000 Y’s Men’s clubs, spread over 74 countries. He joined the Movement in 1980. During the 32 years of his service in the Movement he had bagged many coveted awards from the International.
He was an International Service Director of the Movement from 2004 to 2008. At present he is a member of the International Council, the apex policy making body of the Movement. from 2009 to 2013. He had attended International meetings of the Movement in Kenya, Canada, Finland, Sweden, Korea, Japan and Norway.
Dr.Khalil Isaac Mathai (PL.1.2.1.3.1.1) and Dr.Shiela, the distinguished Vishisht Seva Medal couple of Palathinkal family is bringing in more and more laurels to our family. Both of them took part in the Bombay Marathon in January 2013. Khalil did the full 42 marathon in 4 hrs and 8 mts and Sheila did the half marathon in 2 hrs 44 mts. Dr.Shiela Mathai wife of Dr.Khalil Isaac Mathai (PL.1.2.1.3.1.1) has been awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal by the President of India on the Republic Day 2012. The award is in recognition of her services as Neonatologist and Head of Paediatrics. She has set up the ten bedded neonatal ICU and decreased the mortality of premature babies born in the Navy hospitals. The date of the award ceremony is yet to be announced, but is it likely to be at Vizag.
Dr.Khalil had received the same honour in 2011. Congratulations from Kudumbayogam to the lone Palathinkal couple to have received such an hnour. It is a great honour for the entire Kudumbayogam.
Thuruthel Abraham Mathai and Annamma Mathai (PL.1.2.4.1.3) celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary on 23-11-2011. Kudumbayogam congratulates them and thank the Almighty for all the blessings, the couple received in their married life.
SANTHI JOSEPH, wife of Jomon K.Joy (KL.1.1.1.1.2.2.1.1), Kollamparambil - Palathinkal, Pariyram, Kottayam passed M Sc Computer Science examination 2010 with 2nd Rank from M.G.University. Palathinkal Kudumbayogam congratulated her for the distinguished achievement.
Dr.Khalil Isaac Mathai (PL.1.2.1.3.1.1), Son of Isaac Mathai (Late)(Casi) and Ammu was Awarded 'Vishishta Seva Medal' by the President of India on Republic day (26-1-2011). He is now Head of Neurosurgery Division in Naval Hospital 'Aswinin' in Colaba, Mumbai.
Vivek Jacob Mathai (PL.1.2.5.1.1.1.1), son of Joydeep Mathai and Rekha Mathai has qualified for the National Talent Search Scholarship. He was Kerala State Topper for the National Talent Search Examination. Currently he is a student of Class IX at the Choice School, Cochin.
Praseena Elizabeth Joseph {PL 1 2 4 2 1 2}, Daughter of Adv M.J.Joseph and Geemol has secured 1st rank in BA LLB examination conducted by the School of Indian Legal Thought of M G University. Congratulations from Palathinkal Kudumbayogam.
